🎧 s2ep04: Author Journal – Trying new things

Hello, listener, it’s a brand new year, at least since the last time you heard from me. Sorry about that. I really need to stop podfading. I had an episode recorded and set up. And I’ve been editing it. But before I could finish, I stopped and then forgot about it.

What’s coming in March on my Patreon

I’m going to come out and admit it — I’ve been stalling.

There’s a plot arc coming up in Fake-Married to My Billionaire Boss that’s going to be pretty angsty. I’m not a very angsty person so I’ve been psyching myself up for it. Anyway, I’ve finally decided to go for it. So buckle up, friend.

I canceled my book … sort of

I thought my readers on Radish would appreciate having a free story. And some of them did. As of writing this, FMMBB on Radish has gotten 180k reads (about 3.75x the 48k reads on Wattpad, which was a surprise, since Wattpad has way more active users than Radish). However, while the reader comments on Wattpad has been lovely, the past few weeks nearly all the reader comments on the story on Radish have been complaints about how I was updating the story so slowly. And it was mostly to tell them that this week’s chapter for Fake-Married to my Billionaire Boss is late, which, of course they already knew. Because yesterday was Thursday, and I was supposed to post it on Monday. That’s what I promised right? At the beginning of the month of October, I posted a thing and said, Okay, so we’re going to do this more regular. I decided I should be more regular with my rewards. So once a week, at least for my $1 and $3 patrons. So I said every Monday — new chapter. At least, that’s to begin with. I might add some more stuff next month, but I didn’t want to overwhelm myself.

  • The Short Story Experiment

As you probably know, I have a Patreon. One of the reasons I decided to get one is that I figured it might be an effective way to get me to Make More Stuff. Because if people are giving you money on a regular basis, you will owe them Stuff and you will therefore have to make Stuff. Anyway, that was the theory.

    Writing Wednesday

I’ve decided my free writing-related posts on Patreon will be going up on Wednesday every week. Writing Wednesday! It did not get off to an auspicious start, as I barely made it yesterday — I published the post five minutes to midnight. Oh boy.
