I was so happy last Saturday when I woke up to see that my story The Billionaire’s Price had gotten a million views. It’s my first romance novel, and when I started it, I had no idea what I was doing. However, the response has been overwhelming, and I’m so grateful for everyone who decided it was worth their time to read it.
*throws confetti*
This chapter was super late. I wasn’t feeling well, so I had to postpone finishing it for a couple of days. Everyone was very supportive and concerned about my health, and for that I’m truly grateful. Luckily, I felt a lot better yesterday, so I was able to finish Chapter 29 “In the Study”. Here’s a preview:
“What can I do for you, Ms. Slade?” he said, not looking up.
The distance between the door and his desk seemed like a mile. She approached him hesitantly, furiously thinking of what to say. “I, uh,” she stammered.
He looked up, his piercing blue eyes unreadable. “Yes?”
“Well…”
Why did you text me yesterday?
That just sounded demanding.
I was home. Did you want to see me?
Wow, desperate much?
Victoria swallowed hard. She should have just gone to bed. Instead, she was standing nervously in front of her boss like a silly schoolgirl about to be scolded by the principal.
A really sexy, hot principal.
He was wearing the grey cotton tee and jeans from earlier when he was cooking. It showed off his toned arms, and she could barely keep her eyes off his biceps. Or the outline of his chest.
“You know … It’s nothing, really. I can see you’re busy, so I’ll just go —”
His chair slid back silently as Sebastian stood up. He walked around his desk, to stand in front of her. “I’m not that busy,” he said. “There’s no need to be nervous, Ms. Slade. Just give it to me.”
“What?” she said, staring at his hand. He had his palm up like he was expecting her to hand him something.
“It’s twenty dollars, I believe?”
“Oh, no,” she said, horrified. Good grief, he thought she had come here to … She shook her head. “That’s —”
“Did you want to negotiate the price?”
“I didn’t mean that. It’s just that … I, uh…” Dear lord, did his mouth always look that amazingly kissable?
“What is it then?” He moved closer.
Oh God, he smells so good.
“I, uhm… left my wallet in my room.”
